JK Wedding Entrance Dance Video

I was on Facebook this morning, checking in with some of my staff from camp, answering last minute questions, etc, etc. This video link came up with a recommendation from a friend to watch it. I thought it was one of those funny wedding first dance videos. But alas, it is the procession into the church.

I was surprised how emotional a reaction I had to it. I was smiling and laughing as the friends danced their way down. I love how they obviously devoted a lot of practice to getting the timing exactly right, including the entire slow motion segment. I think about the friends who are obviously a little awkward and uncomfortable, definitely not the strongest dancers but still shimmy their way down the aisle.

But the emotions came when they start coming down the aisle as a group, part for the groom and he somersaults down. Then as they proceed together they are lifting their hands and celebrating. The entrance of the bride, her joyous solo dance to meet her soon to be husband made me cry. And as he meets her and they slow, savoring a moment as they begin to approach the minister.

Some may say it is a very somber serious moment ruined by these folks. But I am moved, touched and uplifted by people so obviously excited, overjoyed and happy to be entering into marriage. Blessings to them!

I was sent this this morning too, by a friend. I cried too! Females. :) I love how I can cry at someone else's wedding now. I feel like I've reached "womanhood". Thanks for sharing and putting words to my feelings.

I saw this on twitter yesterday, and I think it's the best way ever to start a wedding. They all should do this. =)

My friend posted this yesterday and I was CRACKING UP! How awesome is that! And what a great song to do it to! Me, coming from a traditional Catholic church, had to think, "wow. I'm surprised they let them do that in a church." lol. SO well planned, uplifting, and absolutely unforgettable!

I only watched a part of the video. I don't find it funny or amusing. Frankly I think it was annoying and immature. I'm not surprised that it received so many views, considering the mentality of the way society is today. Weddings are supposed to be elegant, not some rowdy drunken party with people acting like they're on crack.

CB- I respectfully disagree. That's why you should have watched the video in it's entirety! The beauty is in the celebration in the end, after the silliness is done with. By no means did I find it drunken rowdiness, but a joyous coming to the alter. I am heartened that they slow together and solemnly approach the alter to be wed, but happy that they rejoiced all of the way there! As the daughter of a minister I have attended many, many, many weddings-some of which resembled more of a funeral. It was great to see people so genuinely happy to be entering into marriage!

I didn't cry when the bride came in, but I did get chills. She looked like she was having the time of her life. A true celebration.
