Wanchai Ferry & Target $25 Gift Card Review & Giveaway (ends 3/3)

I received a Wanchai Ferry "Perfect Night In" prize pack last week from MyBlogSpark. It was a wonderful little box to unpack! It included all the elements of a nice dinner for two; two place mats, three pairs of contemporary metal chopsticks, two Asian side rice dishes, four fortune cookies, and a coupon for a free Wanchai Ferry dinner for two. And if that doesn't make for a great evening for two, it also included a $25 gift card for Target to pick up anything else you needed! Some might choose side dishes available in the Target freezer section, or a special beverage, maybe even more table embellishments.

I chose to use my gift card to purchase something as a mother of many I tend not to do, pick out something for myself. I bought a special shirt, a bit of makeup and even picked out a snazzy new nail polish. It was nice to have an outfit to wear and feel good in for my night in dinner date with Daddy D!

While at Target I did try to use my coupon for the Wanchai Ferry meal. Unfortunately, my Target no longer carries this product. This particular Target did have a full food section, including frozen ready to prepare meals, but they did not have this brand.

I instead found the Wanchai Ferry meals, including all of the product line, at my local Walmart. As Daddy D is on vacation, he was with me and we chose the Shrimp Lo Mien. The other available flavors are Orange Chicken, Spicy Garlic Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken.

The Wanchai Ferry meals come complete with all ingredients needed to prepare a meal for two people. This includes the rice, or in our case lo mien. The entire meal can be made from start to finish in 14 minutes. I set the timer on my oven and went to work.

The instructions, printed right on the back of the bag, were very clear and easy to follow. It did indeed take less than 14 minutes to prepare. It was not complicated. The only outside items I needed was a teaspoon of oil for browning the shrimp and some water.

We sat down to eat and found the meal comparable to a restaurant meal we often order. We found the food well seasoned, the shrimp held up well and were not a mushy mess. The vegetables were also not mushy, easily and well prepared. We enjoyed the meal immensely and will be looking forward to trying this again soon! Daddy D is only disappointed that this is the only product including noodles and not rice. He really prefers noodles to rice.

Want to try Wanchai Ferry yourself? Check out their website for a $1.50 off of an entree! They also have a great tool that helps you come up with other ways to enhance your meal, including drinks and sides.

Even better, a VIP coupon, prize pack, and giveaway have been provided by Wanchai Ferry through MyBlogSpark is being offered to a MommaDandDaBoyz reader!
To enter the Wanchai Ferry giveaway, please visit pick which meal interests you and leave a comment telling me what that item is and why. YOU MUST DO THIS FIRST OR OTHER ENTRIES WILL NOT COUNT. what a precious "night in" pack! i love the chopsticks, etc.

i'd probably get the orange chicken becuase my hubby absolutely loves the crispy orange chicken bowl at applebee's, and this meal looks similar.

if it was for me only, i'd get the shrimp lo mein. might have to try that anyway! :)
