This is the third in a series of posts about our recent trip to Sears Portrait Studio. All this week I will be sharing each of the boyz individual photo shoots, culminating in the part of the session that included all four boyz. Keep coming back, and mid-week we will be launching our Sears Portrait Studio Giveaway of a Sears Portrait Studio Silver Collection, which includes 10 custom “mix and match” portrait sheets, your choice of two collages/composites and one 10x13 wall portrait. Plus, you get a CD of your original images with copyrights and up to 10 standard enhancements, such as black and white, sepia, vignettes or borders!Today is Nate the Greats day! Nathan just turned four years old in February. When we were talking as a family about bringing something that was their favorite thing right now, Nate said he wanted to bring cars, as in items from his rather extensive Disney Pixar Cars collection. Mostly he collects the die cast cars, but as they are rather small we negotiated bringing larger shake n go cars.
Nate was definitely a challenging subject. He did stay in place when the photographer positioned him. But he would make odd facial expressions. Arsenia, our photographer, kept talking to him about silly things that would make him smile. Just through sheer numbers of photographs she was able to get this one that we liked.

She decided to get closer and take a tight shot of Nathan's face. At this point Nate was trying to cooperate, but the results were pretty awkward.

Arsenia, however, was observant. She realized that Nate would look at the monitor after each picture to see the picture that resulted. More often than not he would laugh at himself when the preview picture would come up.
She positioned herself right underneath the monitor, so when the rather awkward shot above came up onto the screen she was right there to capture this...

We love this picture! We ordered sheets of each of the three other boyz "personal item" pictures for our living room with the exception of Nathan. We loved this one so much that we parted with the theme of the others just to have it. It is so him, perfectly captured! Can't you just see the mischief in his eyes?
Coming up tomorrow, Eli Noel!
