Send Spring My Way

This week has been refreshing. That special kind of thawing out warm where you can hear the sounds of trickling water as the frozen statuesque mounds of plowed aside snowbanks start to dwindle back into the water table.

I am loving opening the back door to get packages left from delivery man and breathing deeply. Savoring the small touch of cold that give me goosebumps but doesn't send me scurrying back into the dry forced heated air inside my house.

Granted, today is dreary and gray. What is left of those towering banks are melting quicker with the added steady drizzle. But for me, the sooner the better. Sometime this week my internal clock shifted from the "hunkering down" (side note: one of my least favorite phrases EVER) to the stepping out. I am ready for spring!

So bring on the birds, the fresh grass, little league and class trips. It is time to bathe my vitamin D deprived skin in some natural sunlight. I am ready to pack up my wool and cable knit sweaters for another year. And my freshly pedicured toes from last weekends girlfriends trip are begging to be let free in a new squishy pair of flip flops.
