Party City Review & $50 Gift Certificate Giveaway (Ends 4/4)

On Saturday night we had Gabriel's birthday party to celebrate him turning seven!  Today I want to show you some of the decorations!  Party City gave me the opportunity to choose party decor for Gabriel's party from their massive online site.  There were so many choices!


Party City has a great selection of party supplies.  Whether you are planning a baby shower, a holiday party or a party for another special occasion, Party City has an amazing selection of products to help you do it right!


Gabriel wanted to have a movie themed birthday party.  It was amazingly simple to find what we were looking for under the theme party tab!  We had two great party product lines to choose from, the Director's Cut or the Star Attraction.  As Gabe is 7, he found the Director's Cut to be more along what he was looking for.  


For the decorations I chose the Red Carpet Runner.  We put it down our hallway and into our living room to give the guests the red carpet treatment and lead them to the "movie theater" space.

For the doorway to the living room we chose the Hollywood Stars Doorway Curtain to give the special feel with the dangling stars.

Using both the Hollywood Party Decorating Kit 10pc and the Hollywood Party Hanging Swirl Decorations we decorated the living room with lots of movie flair.  The feel of all of the long spiral twists hanging from the ceiling was pretty awesome! 

We also used the large honeycomb balls and garland that came in the Hollywood Party Decorating Kit in the hallway leading into the living room.

Finally, we used the Movie Night Plastic Table Cover  and the Hollywood Movie Scene Marker to add a touch of the theme to the dessert table.

  We also, for the first time ever for a kids party, did a piñata!  This Movie Scene Marker piñata went perfectly with the theme and was a great activity at the beginning of the party for the kids to do before sitting down to watch the movie.

The two big ticket items we decided on were the Popcorn Life Size Cardboard Cutout 56in and these Gold and Silver Metallic Oval Sunglasses 12ct .  We created a photo opportunity with the popcorn by tacking black tablecloths up on the wall behind it.  We also put out the sunglasses for everyone to wear, as well as suit jackets, fedoras, boas and fake lips and mustaches for everyone to use and ham it up. We'll be sending each kids picture all dressed up with the thank you's, and each of the guests also got a pair of the sunglasses in their goody bags as a reminder of the very cool night!

Gabriel and his friends loved the party, where the watched Megamind sprawled out on pillows and blankets on the floor and ate lots of popcorn, pizza rolls and candy!  The decorations were wonderful.  A huge thumbs up to Party City for such fun decor!
