A Year of What's Good

Yesterday was a bit of a sad day for me.  It was the final day of my sister's What's Good list.  It was the 365 submission to her list, fully completing a year of daily entries.  Each day she wrote about something that she was grateful for in her life.

Some were fabulously fun, things like Tickle Fights (day 304) or Sonic (day 40).  Others were sad memories that taught her to treasure the different things like The Sound Of A Missed Voice (day 73).  Still others were beautiful tributes to people in her life.  I got several mentions, but day 361 was the most beautiful and made me cry as she wrote out special aspects of our relationship.

It was with great anticipation that I waited for the list to be updated.  I would laugh, I would cry, I would most always smile.  So it was definitely hard to say goodbye to it yesterday.

What's a sister who is a blogger to do?  Start a list of her own.

Today starts day 1 of my What's Good List.  Check back to see the posts as close to daily as I can get.  And if you miss a few and want to catch up, all you will have to do is click the "What's Good List" label on the bottom of each post and they will be filtered out for you from the rest of the blog.

Day 1

Today I am grateful for my little sister, who taught me to see life differently through her eyes every day for a year.  Who I got to watch take unexpected obstacles throughout that time and overcome them with gusto.  Who has inspired me to look past the little frustrations of the day to day and learn to celebrate what is important to me.

Thank you, Jessica, for a wonderful year.  I hope to give you the same.

My sister and I, and my niece Mocha Cub last summer...
