The Boyz are Sick and I am Tired!

This has been a very rugged couple of weeks. First little Eli had this fever that wouldn't go away and what looked like cold sores. Then Gabriel got sick too. But with these cold sore things too. Since neither had ever had those before it tipped us off that something else was going on. Low and behold they had the Coxsackie virus. Eli is well now. He got better around day eight. Gabe not so much.

Gabe's fever finally got down in the 99 range today. Six full days later. But the sores in his mouth and throat are pretty severe making it difficult for him to drink and eat. We are hoping another day or two and he will be on the mend and head back to school soon. We have never had a kid not be able to go to school for a week.

All of this has left Daddy D and I drained. Really, really tapped out. Sleepless nights. Inconsolable children. Feeling helpless because we can't fix our little boyz. Made even more difficult by an October long weekend with eighty degree weather here in New York that we were not able to truly enjoy as a family.

I look forward to a return to our crazy normal, a welcome relief from these past two weeks!
