Halloweens Past!

October is by far the hardest month for me to blog.  Why?  Because the D household is always crazy busy making our float for the Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation Halloween Parade.

This is our sixth float that we are in the process of building.  We are in the home stretch, the parade in this Saturday, so I wanted to give you a look at years past.

The first float we ever did was our PacMan float.  The costumes were challenging as there wasn't really a pattern for them.  The float itself was not as elaborate as they are now, but this was one of my absolute favorites.  All of the stuffing in the costumes made for a very warm night!

Then we did the Super Mario Brothers.  With no girls in our family at the time, my sister and I ended up being Princess Peach and Princess Daisy.  Never did I think that I would ride down Main St in a full on yellow satin dress.  Only for my boyz!

Then we did a Superheroes and Villains float.  This was the most challenging for me, as little Eli was only eight weeks old at the time.  Surprisingly we won first place!

The next year we did It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.  Seth had visions of riding down the parade route as the Red Baron Snoopy atop his doghouse.  He was so thrilled.  It was fabulous!

Last year we did Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  Daddy D's favorite movie.  He was a very happy Willy Wonka!

This year we have something awesome up our sleeves!  I can't wait to show you all...but if you are local, be sure to come out and see us in the Town of Liberty Parks & Rec Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 29th at noon.  Or come and be a part of the parade! Get more information here.
