The Homemade Crayon Details

I was a bit surprised by the number of emails I got today in reference to these crayons!  Sometimes I forget that everyone doesn't spend as much time as I do perusing craft and mom blogs.

So here is a quick how to as per requests!
Put in either a silicone baking mold or a metal one
(muffin tins make great large crayons for little hands!)

I did this without looking up solid instructions.
I put them in the oven at about 350 degrees
and watched them melt, for less than ten minutes.

With a silicone pan, be sure to put a metal tray underneath.
This is where my trial and error can benefit you.

I had forgotten how flexible silicone pans are. Usually when I take out a silicone pan it has a solid like cake or muffins in them.  The liquid spilled out immediately.  All subsequent batches went in with the metal tray!

Wait for them to cool fully and just pop out.
No need to grease a pan or anything of the sort.
Easy! Fun! Free!

Thank you for posting this as I have seen it before. But I have never tried it and I was going to do this with my kiddos very soon.
