Tomorrow The Muppets opens in movie theaters across the country. My family and I had the opportunity to go to an advance screening of the movie this past weekend. Daddy D and I were excited to see the movie having grown up with the Muppets. Da boyz were equally excited, as they have a few Muppets movies all their own.
I can honestly say that we all absolutely loved this movie! So much so that adults and children alike were talking about favorite moments for over an hour after. As a mom, I loved that this movie featured traditional Muppet mainstays of humor and lovable characters. There was the jokes for all moviegoers, and great side jokes for adults. The story line was interesting and engaging, although the run time was about 15 minutes longer than the three and four year olds in the audience could stand. Eli needed just a little coaxing through the end.
Jason Segal does a great job of carrying the lead among the puppet characters. Add to that Amy Adams and the duo turned in fabulously sticky sweet performances that were worthy of the a Muppet movie. I particularly loved the retro vibe to the wardrobes!
Look for some wonderful cameos as well, including Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Patrick Harris and Jack Black. My absolute favorite one being Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters as the Animal wannabe in the Moppets. Priceless!
Overall, this gets twelve very enthusiastic thumbs up from the D family (2 each from all six of us!). We loved watching this movie together. The laughs, jokes and discussions keep coming days later over breakfast cereal and during bed times. How often does a movie appeal equally to all members of a family? Take your family to share the experience over the holiday!

I really want to see this but I can't talk Rob into it. I might just take the kids and go!
